Airport Link Noise Win for Residents as Ombudsman Upholds Complaint

QUEENSLAND’S Ombudsman has upheld complaints by residents about excessive noise at Airport Link development sites.

Ombudsman Phil Clarke found evidence of “regular and considerable excessive noise” at the Kalinga Park worksite since construction began around-the-clock two years ago.

In a report released this morning, Mr Clarke made 24 recommendations including that tollway builder BrisConnections and state authorities take action to protect the community from excessive night-time noise for the remainder of the project.

The 6.7km toll road is on track for completion by mid next year.

Built largely underground, Airport Link will connect the city to northern suburbs and Brisbane Airport.
